a principle of governance and organization that holds that decisions should be made by the smallest, lowest, or most local level of authority that can effectively handle them, rather than by a higher or more centralized authority
I’ve written before about how Government exists to decentralise power, which feels aligned with this new term.
This got me thinking about how perhaps that telos extends to individuals - that we ALL exist to decentralise power.
Additionally, I thought about competing governments. How Chinese and American governments would be motivated to centralise authority lest they be dominated by a larger centralised authority - an arms race
